Media For excellence

Welcome to our site

MEDIA FOR EXCELLENCE GROUP

We salute you all in the Name of the almighty. We please kindly solicit for a kind consideration to us Ugandan Students.

Uganda has always been put in the spotlight for press freedom and basic journalism in East Africa . Many journalists in Uganda have won International Awards for good journalism world wide with the latest from the Vision Group reporter who achieved an Award as the best agricultural reporter world wide.

However many journalists in Uganda have taken the press freedom and freedom of expression guaranteed to them in the constitution as not meaningful and beyond reasonable control. This highlights the fact that many journalists have produced statements regarded as seditious and affect the government. Clear examples have always been stated with some in the lime light from the UPC Party President General Ambassador Olara Otunu still moving on with charges of sedition when he stated that President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda Funded the Lord’s resistance Army.

More examples come out when Buganda Based Radio stations were closed because of the same statements. Many journalists of The Monitor Journalists Suffered in1993 when few heartless journalists did create chaos that left monitor Publication suffering a bun of corporate advertisements for over ten years. Today the Central Broadcasting Service remains closed because of the same heartless journalists who had forsaken what is right in the alter of their personal conveniences. All these are prevailing here in Uganda but again also in Africa . Many Journalists have preferred catastrophe to peace in Our African countries.

What we have to remember is that the saviors of the African Continent (the ones who led us to independence) shed a lot of blood so as to rescue our continent from what is called imperialist madness as well as colonialism. Today a Group of University student in Uganda have sat down and found a solution to the overwhelming media freedom as stated by the many journalists here in the country and all over Africa . Students especially those in a Marjory in journalism have come up with an Organization to control the Media industry here in our country which is called MEDIA FOR EXCELLENCE

BACKGROUND

These students come from different Universities here in Uganda with a Marjory of private Universities in the country and they include:

The group is led by Mr Lubulwa Henry who also holds a diploma in journalism that he got from ZIMBABWE .

AIM OF THE GROUP

Today our country Uganda has a lot more qualified personnel who Lack jobs in the different professions. We have therefore came up with a resolution to start not only practicing what we get from the class room but also take our selves with hands on to experience since many to today’s Jobs require experience of not less than Two years. This really disturbed when we found out that people in who are employed rotate around having every Job their since they owe to have the experience the companies need and the unemployed remain unemployed for ever.

Also a clear fact that the country has a lot more sectarianism and tribalism may end up unemployed. This is with reference to the many government officials who come up with their sons and daughter or even the grand children to have all the jobs in government here in our country with a clear example Education Ministry Permanent Secretary Mr Lubanga Who is accused of such a candle

With all that and many left out we aim at creating employment opportunities to the unemployed, Promote media Excellence as our motto stands and also Fight sectarianism Tribalism and the many ethical issues that need to be ironed out for a prosperous country.

TARGETED PLANS

We expect to have a lot more students from different universities who intend to have internships to come to our company as a way of help them get their hands on experience before they leave the University. It is clear that only two Universities have Media houses at the compass so a few move in for internships or experience so when in place that would be our target group

We also learnt that it would be a centre for all kind of professions from journalism to marketing and administration so we expect to employ many and also take internships at the organization

We also expect to launch our company early October so we take the responsibility to inform you which date to launch the Student’s Organization. We also target to making an African wide tabloid that covers the whole of the continent so we also expect to have even more from the African continent so as to promote excellent media.
